The 108-foot-tall UAE BAPS temple, which occupies more than 27 acres in the UAE, was dedicated by PM Modi. It has elaborate carvings, domes with symbolic meanings, and spires that tell stories from Hindu scriptures.
On Wednesday, February 14, in Abu Dhabi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the BAPS Swaminarayan temple in the presence of spiritual leaders of the Swaminarayan sect and devotional chants.

The prime minister took part in the rites of a ceremony to dedicate the temple to the public while wearing a pale pink silk dhoti and kurta, a sleeveless jacket, and a stole.
Before officially opening the temple, the prime minister also offered water from the Yamuna and Ganga rivers, represented by virtual pools. Additionally, he took part in the Global Aarti, which was held concurrently at more than 1,200 Swaminarayan temples across the globe.

Structure Keys Of Temple
- The UAE government donated 27 acres of land for the temple. The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, donated 13.5 acres of land for the temple in 2015.
- In January 2019, the UAE government granted an additional 13.5 acres, bringing the total given area to 27 acres, as part of its Year of Tolerance.
- The temple, which cost Rs 700 crore to build, is 180 feet broad, 262 feet long, and 108 feet high.
- It is said that 700 containers carrying more than 20,000 tons of stone and marble were transported to Abu Dhabi for the temple. Iron or steel have not been used. The foundation has been filled with fly ash, which has replaced 55% of the cement in the concrete mix, lowering the temple’s carbon footprint.
