Devarayanadurga Temple: Devarayanadurga is a hill station and temple town in the Tumakuru district of the Indian state of Karnataka. Forest covers the rocky hills and hilltops are topped with a number of temples such as the Yoganarasimha and the Bhoganarasimha temples.It is at an altitude of 1204 metres.
Devarayanadurga means “Devaraya’s fort” in Kannada; the town acquired its present name following the occupation of it by the Mysore king Chikka Devaraja Wodeyar in one of his conquests.

Devarayanadurga Temple is constructed in Dravidian architecture with elaborate carvings and a majestic gopuram (tower). Lord Narasimha (half-lion, half-man form of Vishnu) is the presiding deity. The temple complex is atop a hill with beautiful views. Natural rock caves and sacred lakes such as Namada Chilume (a spring said to have been formed by Lord Rama) are nearby.
