Garlic Butter Lemon Pasta Ingredients

  • 8 oz Spaghetti or Linguine
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 Large Lemon (zested and juiced)
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup Reserved pasta water
  • Fresh parsley and red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil the Pasta: Cook pasta in salted water according to package directions. Important: Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Sauté Garlic: While pasta cooks, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Create Sauce: Stir in the lemon juice and half of the lemon zest. Add the cooked pasta directly to the skillet.
  4. Emulsify: Pour in the reserved pasta water and Parmesan cheese. Toss vigorously over low heat until a creamy sauce coats the noodles.
  5. Finish: Top with remaining zest, fresh parsley, and red pepper flakes. Serve immediately.
