The Indian general election of 2024 is slated to happen in May of that year. The composition of the 17th Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament, will be decided by the election. There will be 543 constituencies spread over 29 states and 8 union territories in this first-past-the-post election. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Indian National Congress (INC), and All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) are the three main political parties in India.

– The BJP needs the support of NDA allies to form the government because it was   unable to secure a 272-majority.

  • In the elections of 2024:
  • Uttar Pradesh: A total of forty-three seats were won by the Samajwadi Party and Congress coalition in India.
  • West Bengal: The Congress party won the remaining seats, leaving the TMC with 29 and the BJP with 12.
  • Kerala: The Congress party won 14 seats, while the BJP won its first Lok Sabha seat.
  • Maharashtra: Out of 48 seats, the INDIA alliance won 29 seats, while the Congress only managed to win 13 seats.
  • Karnataka: JD(S) won seats in two constituencies, BJP won 17 seats, while Congress won 10 seats.
  • Himachal Pradesh: It is highly probable that Kangana Ranaut will be elected to parliament as the BJP’s candidate from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.
