Story Behind Celebrating Of Accordion
The accordion is a free-reed instrument distinguished by its bass and treble casings, each fitted with piano-style keys or buttons. One side of the early models featured buttons that could each produce a whole chord. Google describes the accordion as the “main squeeze” of folk musicians, but it can also be heard in jazz, classical, and folk genres.
Germany saw an increase in accordion production in the late 1800s as producers tried to keep up with the rising demand from folk artists. The instrument’s global dissemination was aided by this production boom, as European players introduced it to new audiences worldwide.
