Who Was Meera Bai?
Meera Bai was born in Kudki, Rajasthan, around 1498. She had a strong devotion to Lord Krishna from an early age. She never acknowledged anybody other than Krishna as her real husband, even though she was married to Prince Bhoj Raj of Mewar. She endured much suffering at the hands of her in-laws, who couldn’t comprehend her supernatural love, but nothing could shake her faith.

The Meera had a spiritual attachment that went beyond human love. She expressed her desire and submission to Krishna in hundreds of bhajans. Even now, people still sing her songs with great devotion, such as “Payo Ji Maine Ram Ratan Dhan Payo.”
